EUROPEAN OPHTHALMIC REVIEW – VOLUME 12 – ISSUE 1 – SUMMER 2018

Welcome to the latest edition of European Ophthalmic Review. In our ageing population, preserving and/or restoring good quality vision is a major challenge. This issue of the journal features a wide range of articles reflecting the rapid pace at which the ophthalmologic community are addressing this challenge.

Our expert interviews have become a popular feature of our journals and this issue features three interviews with key opinion leaders who explore keratoplasty, diabetic macular oedema and choroidal neovascularisation. Dan Reinstein provides Practice Pearls on small incision lenticule extraction (SMILE) as another option in the treatment of refractive error, with fewer complications and better outcomes. Finally, in our review and original research sections our authors explore insights into cataract surgery, Trabectome® surgery for glaucoma, imaging in retinal disease and the impact of dry eye disease on mental health.

We hope you enjoy this edition, which will be distributed at the upcoming ESCRS/EURETINA meeting – don’t forget to pick up your free copy!

We continue to accept submissions for our Winter issue, and we welcome you to submit your manuscript here.

Many thanks, and enjoy!
