Ziemer Ophthalmic Systems AG

Ziemer's FEMTO LDV™, the first compact, mobile femtosecond surgical laser, has been conceived to provide a versatile, powerful platform for a wide spectrum of applications in corneal and cataract* surgery. Ziemer's proprietary FEMTO LDV™ systems are based on a radically different technology. Operating with very low pulse energy and very short pulse width but very high pulse frequencies in the megahertz range, the threshold for tissue disruption is reached without requiring an amplifier. This low energy delivery has turned out to be the most relevant factor for a gentle tissue resection. Features: Mobile system. Smooth surface of stromal bed. Smooth edges for optimal flap closure. Thin flaps of even thickness. Rapid healing and visual recovery. Excellent visual outcomes. Advanced corneal and cataract* surgery. Applications: Z-LASIK, Intrastromal pocket resection for Inlays (ISP), Intracorneal tunnel resection for rings (ICR), Penetrating keratoplasty (PKP), Lamellar Keratoplasty (LKP), Clear Corneal Incisions, Arcuate Incisions. Laser capsulotomy and lens fragmentation will be available soon*. * The Ziemer FEMTO LDV Z Models are FDA cleared and CE marked and available for immediate delivery. The FEMTO LDV Z6 is FDA cleared and CE marked for creation of corneal incisions in patients undergoing cataract surgery. For some countries, availability may be restricted due to local regulatory requirements; please contact Ziemer for details. Further cataract procedures are not approved in the USA and any other country but will soon be available
