Dr Dhaliwal has authored over 30 peer reviewed publications and 3 book chapters and is the Guest editor for Seminars in Ophthalmology. Her special interests are in vision correction surgery, corneal transplantation and cataract surgery.

Dr Dhaliwal has numerous affiliations including: Active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and ISRS/ AAO International Council; Member of the Cataract Knowledge Base Committee; and the Self-Assessment Committee as the Cornea Representative. She is also an active member of the International Society of Refractive Surgery, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Cornea Society
