Letter from the Editor-in-Chief Letter from the Editor-in-Chief Maurizio Battaglia Parodi Maurizio Battaglia Parodi is currently working at the Department of Ophthalmology, Scientific Institute San Raffaele in Milan, and is Associate Professor at University Vita-Salute in Milan. He had previous appointments in the Departments of Ophthalmology at the University of Trieste and University of Udine. Prof Battaglia Parodi’s major clinical and research interests include age-related macular degeneration (AMD), vascular diseases and dystrophies. He has taken part in many international clinical trials, and has authored over 210 peer-reviewed scientific articles and three books. Prof Battaglia Parodi has received many awards for his scientific activity and is a reviewer for the most important international journals. I t is a great honour and a privilege to be Editor-in-Chief of such a respected publication, a copy of which has always been on my desk. The online version makes it even simpler for ophthalmologists working in any subspecialty to have access to the latest top-quality research and reviews. European Ophthalmic Review has gained a reputation for publishing high quality, accessible articles and it will be my aim to ensure that the review is as clear and user-friendly as possible. I am sure it has the potential to become a benchmark in the field and as such to reach more and more ophthalmologists around the world. To all prospective authors, I would like to encourage you to submit both reviews and original research manuscripts. We offer advice to all authors and for those whose articles are accepted, we will ensure that they reach their target audience.
