Uwe Pleyer

Uwe Pleyer is Professor of Ophthalmology at University-Eye Clinic Charité, Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany. His research interests include the experimental and clinical immune modulation of inflammatory ocular disorders, gene therapy, immune mechanism, immune pharmacology, keratoplasty and uveitis. He has published 240 peer-reviewed articles as well as 14 textbooks. He has received several honors and awards including the International Chibret Award. He is Editor of Ophthalmic Research and is on the editorial board of several journals. He has been the President of the European Association for Vision and Eye Research, EVER (2007) and is a founding member of the International Ocular Inflammation Society (IOIS).
